The necklace is composed of burgundy-colored garnet faceted stones, arranged on 9 strands. The decorative clasp is made as a fine lace of mother-of-pearl and silver accessorized with fine zircons. The stones are strung on a threaded steel support covered with a protective film, specially created for jewelry making. Garnet is a mineral from the group of natural calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese or aluminum silicates. It is most often found in dark red, but it can be found in a variety of colors. The garnet, depending on the variety, can be between 6.5 – 7.5 on the Mohs scale. Most of the crystals were found in the USA, South Africa and Sri Lanka. They originate from the earth's crust from metamorphic, igneous rocks, produced at very high pressures and temperatures, such as following volcanic eruptions.
